blocking spam?

how can i block spam from getting sent to my inbox? i've turned on my spam block but its not working.

1. Get a new email address and then Email all your wanted contacts telling them your new email! dont give your email to random people/orgz. PEACE!
2. Flag the unwanted junk mail in your inbox as Spam. It should be redirected to your spam folder from now on. If you are getting swamped with spam in your inbox and the above method fails to remedy the situation...change your email address. Use the new one for the contacts you wish to receive email from. Make sure you let these contacts know your new email address. Note: Most spam mail have an option at the bottom of the page to opt out of future mailings, enter your email address and submit your request.
